People have great ideas all the time. Every day in our community, new ideas pop up that other people could benefit from. But, ideas are ephemeral. They materialize and make everyone happy, or excited, or hopeful, but if no one acts, they slowly dissipate.
Sometimes our job is to help the idea generator to take her idea and start acting on it. Sometimes the idea gets stuck or stalled, and a nudge from us can get it restarted again. Baby ideas need our enthusiasm.
We do this with our encouragement and kind words. We expect and accept the messy middle. We stay open to receiving random trains of thought and ramblings. We help by forging connections and making introductions. We can remind and remain interested.
When you see a good idea, add some enthusiasm, and maybe that enthusiasm will inspire action.
