Isolation, fear, monotony, and super scary finances; there is a lot that is not great about this time of COVID. But the last five months have not been all bad. Good things have happened too.
Many of us are enjoying more family time. Some families have reconnected with nature. In my house, there has been a significant increase in the availability of homemade bread and pies.
This Spring, everyone was talking about all the terrible results of COVID. Now I hear more people starting to talk about some of the little good things that are happening too. My friends are sharing their silver linings, and my association colleagues are beginning to do the same.
- Some executive directors are finding their boards are more receptive to change.
- Many staff teams are grateful that working from home works better than anticipated.
- Because associations are taking their conferences online, they find they can extend member engagement beyond the usual 1-5 days a year.
What are some of the good things going on in your association right now? (Little, tiny, almost infinitesimal good things count too!)
