Sometimes projects take much longer than they are supposed to, and that is okay.
You might be thinking, “what is she crazy? It is NOT okay that our project is taking too long. We have so much to do, and this feels like a waste of time. We are behind our deadline, and we have to figure out how to get back on track.”
I hear you! I often feel the same way.
And I am also beginning to suspect most big projects run late from time to time for a reason, and it is not always because we are inefficient. Things slow down sometimes because something needs more thought. The natural ebbs in every project may be pointing to a problem that needs to be solved, a place where more effort is required, or a human puzzle that needs deciphering.
Could it be that your project is trying to tell you something?
