Growing Your Personal Skill Stack

Right now, at this very second, I am practicing a new skill. I am dictating this blog post while I walk in a park. Of course, by the time you see it, I will have imported it to my computer and done some serious editing, all while sitting on my rear end, but the first ugly, messy draft is happening via audio.

Why practice audio dictation? I like the idea of working and exercising at the same time. I’m learning to get all my thoughts in order before I start speaking. And have you heard that the internet is going to be audio-based someday?

It could be a great habit to purposely pick something new to learn every once in a while.

Someday you might land at a new association that serves an entirely different industry or profession. Much of what you learned in your old industry or profession may not apply, but your skills will always be transferable.
