Early in February, Arianna Rehak at Matchbox Virtual Media and I embarked on a big audacious goal. We wanted to find out if virtual networking could, well – work! We wondered if virtual networking can start relationships, foster meaningful conversations, solve problems, and help people feel like they are a part of a community? (It can, but more on that later).
We hoped that together with our awesome Incubator participants, we could invent virtual networking events to do all of these things. But, truthfully, before launching the Incubator, we didn’t know if it would work, and the endeavor felt very much like a risky experiment. Kind of like how I suspect the folks at SpaceX feel every time they design a rocket (except, for us, there was no science or flammable propellant).
During each “launch” of the six events we hosted, we learned a lot about the world of virtual networking, engagement, and events. Because we were the hosts, our small but mighty production team is in a unique position to share what we learned with other future hosts and dispel the worries that you may have that virtual networking is difficult or impossible.
Tuesday, May 25th, join Reggie Henry, Arianna Rehak, Sze Pak Ng, me, and many of our wonderful Incubator participants to learn all about the behind-the-scenes inner workings of the Incubator, what worked and what didn’t, as well as strategic and tactical recommendations you can use for your next event. Hope to see you there!!!
