Museums all over the world are closed, have reduced hours, or reduced capacity. The decreased foot traffic must hurt their bottom line, so staff must be anxious to welcome back guests.
Yesterday I got one free complimentary pass to a local museum in the mail. Included in the envelope were a brochure and the ticket. “MARKETING COMP” was printed in big, bold letters on the face of the ticket.
What if, instead of marketing comp, the ticket said:
- Your complimentary ticket to travel with us back in time, or
- Your once-in-a-lifetime pass to ancient Egypt, or simply
- Be Our Guest!
It took me 10 seconds to come up with those alternatives. Sometimes member engagement is just seconds’ worth of thoughtful work.
