Usually, online conferences pale in comparison to their real, immersive in-person counterparts. Online presents problems for speakers and attendees alike. Attendees cannot raise their hand. Speakers cannot answer in real-time. Attendees cannot interact with each other. Speakers have to work overtime to help attendees stay engaged.
In addition to professional development, conferences try to connect members to each other. Introducing peers is something most online conferences don’t even attempt to do, or if they do, it is clunky and awkward for participants.
What if we could take all of these barriers away? What if attendees and speakers could interact real-time? What if participants could connect meaningfully with each other?
Well, this is precisely what my friends at Association Success are trying to do. They are inviting the association community to attend their new, unique online conference called SURGE 2017. Not only do attendees get their most pressing questions answered during the sessions in real-time. Not only do participants get to meet each other over ideas, thoughts, and solutions. Not only can you participate from home, no travel sickness to endure. Not only all of these things — this conference is free! Yep, free.
Why should you join us? We are connecting around one of the most significant opportunities associations have today, and that is change and innovation. Here are a few of the topics that grabbed me:
- How to effect change no matter your job title
- Facing – and embracing – the future of learning
- Transforming associations through artificial intelligence
On Thursday, November 9th, I will join Maddie Grant and Beth Brodovsky to talk about member engagement. What does it mean for associations? How do members talk about it? What is the first step you can take to improve member engagement at your association?
Does this sound interesting?
Register now than head over to the Connect tab and check out the conversation that is already in progress.
Hope to see you there!
