Who is the ambassador of your association? Some may say it is the CEO. Some may say the board president.
Actually, we have many ambassadors representing the association all the time. The ambassador of the association is whoever a new member interacts with first. That means the ambassador might be a member services coordinator, a receptionist, or maybe even someone in finance if that new member has is a question about billing. Or the ambassador might be another participant at a chapter event, or the staff or volunteer handing out badges, or any association staff person racing around the conference. An ambassador is a person who picks up the phone. Or the staff member writing the emails. Or the IT person writing website error codes.
Association CEOs and board presidents are prepared and ready to be the association’s ambassador. Is everyone else?
