A Recipe for Frustration: Being Asked to Change While Not Being Allowed to Change

levers-to-pull

How many levers do staff members have to pull? Being asked to produce extraordinary changes while having few to no levers to manipulate breeds extreme frustration.

What is staff really allowed to do? What are the designated change makers allowed to do?

Can they talk freely? Do they manage a budget or have access to funds for a great idea? Can they coach or make professional development available? Can they hire and fire? Do they have input? Can they make time? Is there time to reflect, plan or connect with others like themselves? Can they make decisions autonomously? Are they allowed to fail?

No levers, no change.
