Our Association May Never Change

The Pope changes things

Are all those indicators of doom present? Are revenues down? Is membership down? What about attendance? Is it harder to find volunteers, exhibitors and good speakers? Even if these metrics are not down are they flat?

Do you see the need for change but also wonder if the lack of resources, contradictory ideas and special agendas will prevent change from happening?

A recent article about Pope Francis in last month’s National Geographic insightfully explains leadership and change in one of the oldest institutions in the world. Yes, heĀ is leading change. No, there’s been no overhaul yet. But, there has been a shift in attitude and maybe that is exactly the right place to start.
