We wait for the crystal clear answer. The one that is guaranteed to get us back on track quickly and effortlessly.
But, that answer never comes. There’s never a perfect solution so we wait. And get more and more frustrated all the time while falling further and further behind.
Here’s a trick to stop that cycle. An action tends to spur motivation. Motivation triggers more actions. In the same way, a little change paves the way for bigger changes.
Take the sedentary, overweight smoker. He starts to walk every day. First around the block, then a 1/2 mile, then a mile and after weeks and weeks and weeks eventually he starts to jog. Then he works on quitting smoking and a few years later this guy has never been fitter. He’s a vegetarian, running marathons and is 100% happier with his life.
As it is in life it is in business.
So instead of the endless agonizing just start with some little change. See how that feels. Then tackle another. And another. Soon you’ll be closer than you think.
